Preconﬁguration Information

If a PC Card ATA device is recognized, the pcata device driver is automatically

loaded, IRQs allocated, devices nodes created, and special ﬁles created (if they don’t

already exist).

Known Problems and Limitations

vold does not support pcata. The ufs ﬁle system needs to be mounted

manually.

In the Solaris operating environment there is no command to create a pcfs ﬁle

system; you must use DOS to create it. Note that most of the ﬂash disks come

with the pcfs ﬁle system on them.

You need to umount the ﬁle system before removing the disk.

The ufs ﬁle systems on removable media (PC Card ATA) should have one of the

’onerror={repair, lock, umount}’ mount options set.

1. Install the Solaris software, including the PCMCIA packages in the SUNWpcmc

cluster.
