Chapter 3: Creating Image Files with Drive Image DOS28
• No Compression is usually the fastest method for creating an image file and is
useful if storage space is not an issue. However, if you are saving your image file
to a busy network drive or to a relatively slow removable media device, high
compression may be faster than no compression since there is less data to write to
the file. Drive Image selects No Compression by default.
• Low compression offers a 40% average compression ratio.
• High compression offers a 50% average compression ratio.
Image files created with Drive Image 5.0 are not compatible with Drive Image
version 3.0 and earlier. That is, you cannot read Drive Image 5.0 images with Drive
Image 3.0 or an earlier version. Drive Image 5.0
can
read images created with earlier
versions of Drive Image.
