Running the Adaptec Installation Manager

The Adaptec Installation Manager is a software utility (available in a

Windows or MS-DOS version) that runs and installs the following

Adaptec software needed to operate your host adapter (see the

Adaptec Installation Manager User’s Guide for more information):

■ DeMucker

™

—avoids conflicts by disabling reference to sound

boards currently and previously installed in your computer.

(Windows only.)

■ EZ-SCSI

™

—provides SCSI capabilities by installing SCSI

device drivers and other programs. (AMM-1525M/1510M

only.)

■ Install ATAPI CD-ROM Driver—provides ATAPI CD-ROM

support by installing either an Adaptec or third party ATAPI

CD-ROM device driver. (AMM-1525M/525M only.)

■ EZ-Audio

™

—provides advanced audio capabilities by install-

ing audio device driver(s).

■ If Windows is installed, the Installation Manager also allows

you to install Microsoft’s Windows Sound System.

To run the Windows version of Installation Manager, follow these

steps:

1 Insert the Adaptec Installation Manager diskette in your

floppy disk drive, and select Run from the File menu in the

Windows Program Manager.

2 In the Run dialog box, enter a:\setup if you are using the A

drive or b:\setup if you are using the B drive. Click OK. A

series of screens guide you through installation and

configuration.

To run the DOS version of Installation Manager, insert the Adaptec

Installation Manager diskette in your floppy disk drive, and type

Install at the appropriate DOS prompt. A series of screens guide you

through installation and configuration.
