Troubleshooting

The SCSI Card Does Not Work

If your SCSI card does not work, check:

• The card is correctly installed (refer to “Installing the Ultra160

SCSI Adapter Card” on page 4).

• The SCSI cables. In particular, check that the cable connections

are secure and that the cables are not damaged. If you find any

loose connections or damaged cables, fix them and restart your

PC.

• All power cables are properly connected to any internal SCSI

devices installed.

• All SCSI devices are properly terminated (refer to “Connecting a

SCSI Device” on page 5).

• All SCSI devices connected to the same SCSI cable have a unique

SCSI ID.

• Parity checking is consistently enabled or disabled on all devices

connected to the same SCSI cable.

• The SCSI-related fields in the HP PC Setup program are

correctly set (refer to “Updating SCSI-Related Fields in the

Setup Program and “SCSI Select™” Utility” on page 10).

• SCSI termination is correctly set for all installed SCSI devices

(refer to “Updating the “SCSI Select™” Utility” on page 11).

• The driver installation steps have been followed (refer to

“Installing the SCSI Driver” on page 12).
