The SCSI ID on most SCSI devices is set with jumpers or

switches. Refer to the SCSI device documentation for informa-

tion on changing the SCSI ID.

SCSI Connector Pinouts

This section documents the SCSI interface connectors on the

SlimSCSI adapter cable as well as the typical mating connectors

found on SCSI devices. The connector on the SlimSCSI adapter and

the connector that attaches the SlimSCSI cable to the adapter are

proprietary. See Figure 2-1.

A typical single-ended, shielded female SCSI device 50-pin connec-

tor is shown in Figure 2-4. This connector is most often used with

external SCSI devices; the SCSI (male) connector on the SlimSCSI

adapter connects to it.

Table 1 lists the pin assignments for each connector type. Definitions

of the various signals may be found in any SCSI design reference

book. The SCSI interface is fully defined in ANSI X3.131-1986, which
