7 Run the configure script:

./configure

If the kernel source is not in /usr/src/linux-2.4, run the

configure script using the tree option:

./configure --tree=<path to source tree>

For example, the following commands work:

ASA72XX module:

make

9 You can load the ASA72XX module automatically or manually.

■ To load the ASA72XX module automatically:

make install

/etc/init.d/asa72xx start

The ASA72XX module is copied to /lib/modules/

kernel_version

. Linux loads the module when booting.

■ To load the ASA72XX module manually:

insmod asa72xx.o

10 Optional—Verify that the module is loaded:

lsmod

If the module is loaded, the module table list displays asa72xx.

11 Check the build version of the module:

rpm -qi asa72xx

When you are finished installing the module, proceed to Chapter 5,

Configuring the iSCSI System.
